My Dear Students,
I am highly delighted to welcome you to the 2026/2027 academic session.
To our fresh students, I congratulate you on gaining admission into this great institution. I urge you to regard your admission as an opportunity to build a solid foundation for your academic and personal future.
To our returning students, welcome back to continue your academic journey, and I urge you to do so with renewed commitment and determination.
I encourage all of you to approach the new session with a clear sense of purpose thus:
1. Make Your Studies Your Priority
Attend your lectures regularly, participate actively in academic activities, make effective use of the University's facilities and seek clarification whenever you encounter difficulties in your studies.
Do not allow distractions, unhealthy relationships, social pressures or activities that have no positive bearing on your academic development to derail your purpose. The years you spend in the University are an important investment in your future. Use them wisely.
2. Observe the Rules of the University
The University has established rules and regulations to promote an orderly, safe and conducive environment for teaching. Familiarise yourselves thoroughly with the Students Information Handbook and abide by all its provisions.
Ignorance of the rules will not constitute an excuse for violating them. I particularly urge you to conduct themselves responsibly, respect University authorities, staff and fellow students, and avoid actions capable of disrupting the peace and academic activities of the University.
3. Say No to Cultism and Other Antisocial Behaviours
The University Management maintains a zero-tolerance position towards cultism, violence, bullying, intimidation, examination malpractice, vandalism, drug abuse and other forms of antisocial behaviour. I therefore appeal to you to consciously distance yourselves from groups, individuals and activities that may expose you to such behaviours.
Your friends and associates can significantly influence your University experience. Choose your friends wisely and do not allow anyone to lure you into activities that could jeopardise your education, safety or future.
You are also encouraged to promptly report suspicious movements, activities or behaviours to the appropriate University authorities or security personnel. Such reports should be made responsibly and through recognised channels. Early reporting can help prevent incidents and protect members of our University community.
4. Always Carry Your Identity Card
You are all reminded of the importance of being in possession of valid University Identity Card at all times. Your identity card is an important means of identification and will assist security personnel in maintaining a safe and orderly campus environment.
5. Existing Security Directives Remain in Force
I wish to specifically remind you that the suspension of unauthorised gatherings and the restriction on the riding of “rubber-rubber” motorcycles by students remain in force. Students are expected to comply fully with these directives until otherwise communicated by the University Management.
6. Your Welfare and Protection Remain Our Priority
While we expect you to take personal responsibility for your conduct and safety, let me assure you that Management remains deeply committed to the welfare, security and protection of every student of Prince Abubakar Audu University.
We will continue to work with relevant stakeholders to strengthen security, improve the campus environment and provide the necessary support for you to pursue your academic goals in a safe and conducive atmosphere. We equally encourage all of you to communicate legitimate concerns through the appropriate University channels so that they can receive timely attention.
As you begin this new academic session, I urge you to remember that your conduct, choices and commitment today will shape the opportunities available to you tomorrow. Let academic excellence, discipline, integrity, respect and responsible citizenship guide your activities throughout your stay at PAAU.
Once again, I warmly welcome all our new and returning students to Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba. I wish you a peaceful, productive and rewarding academic session.
